Addictive Drugs
The Scottish executive has advised GP's to avoid prescribing certain addictive drugs eg. Diazepam, Lorazepam and various others. They are not licensed for long term use and are harmful when used over long periods. It is practice policy to reduce these drugs slowly until stopped and it may be necessary to dispense daily to achieve this.
